Maryjane Brown Joins The Party!
Since 2012, Maryjane Brown has been a staple figure in many of the projects and panels that I have run, such as my Lovely Assistant in Panel Against Humanity, guest voice actress in Fifty Fans of Fiction, and of course a prominent veteran of Tsukino-Con’s Swimsuit Showdown. This year, I have the honour of welcoming Miss Maryjane Brown to our Staff team as our new Deputy Head of Operations!
With over a decade of experience as a professional seamstress and costume designer, Maryjane Brown has truly made a name for herself in the world of Cosplay. Her extensive knowledge of craftsmanship and painstaking attention to detail has led her to win numerous awards at conventions across Canada.
This year, I have had the amazing opportunity to lead the overhauling of Tsukino-Con’s Cosplay Contest for 2016 with a team of dedicated individuals, and Maryjane has proven to be a driving force as my Assistant Coordinator for the Cosplay Contest. She has also already been hard at work providing a fresh new look to some of our site’s key design aspects and promotional content, as her skills as a graphic artist both on paper and in digital have provided us with new promotional material for our panels and events, of which we will be updating fairly soon!
In addition to the significant contributions and support that she provides both to our site and to the events that we are running, Maryjane will be canvassing various conventions to develop content for her new interview series, Asuka Asks, which will focus on the opinions of attendees, cosplayers, and guests at various events and will cover a wide variety of topics! I will be providing assistance as her A/V technician and handler, and I look forward to working with her on this new and exciting project!
